Myths of nutrition #1: A common diet exists to help me lose weight.

A scale displaying a measuring tape coiled beside it, indicating a focus on weight and measurement.

Weight loss tends to be the most common goal of my patients, especially in the month of January. All of our news outlets and social media platforms are inundated with articles titled “New Year, New You” with promises of quick results with a new diet that is promoted by a famous celebrity. Oh, if it was only that easy! When I search “diets of 2025”, I receive a list including: Body Reset Diet, Blood Type Diet, Alkaline Diet, Gluten-Free Diet, Whole30 Diet, Ketogenic Diet… the list is never ending.

Happy Trails Nutrition L.L.C. exists to help each person navigate our challenging nutrition environment. As a Registered Dietitian and a trained Research Scientist, my goal is to dissect the newest trends to determine Truth vs. Falsehood. Two tips to remember: Sustainable weight loss does not occur rapidly and there is no “one-size-fits-all” diet. I’d love to help you define personalized nutrition goals that are achievable and sustainable. Book an appointment or contact to learn more.
